10 Most Criminally Overlooked Video Games Of 2018
2018 isn't anywhere near done.
Of all the years this generation, 2018 has cleared it out the park, only to Smash Bros-style catch up in mid-air, and knock that thing straight into the stratosphere.
Whatever "it" is, 2018 had in abundance, and the consumer benefitted in tow. The amount of genres and variations of game mechanics on display were staggering. Geoff Keighley's Game Awards saw a top 10 comprised of everything from pixel-perfect platformer Celeste, to the raid boss-destruction of Monster Hunter World, the acrobatic exploration of Spider-Man to the complete re-contextualisation of Kratos and the open world power of Red Dead Redemption 2.
That said, the games we've talked about the most this year aren't necessarily the best. Sea of Thieves and Fallout 76 were notable headline-stealers, but in retrospect, plenty of titles dropped that could've done with the attention instead. From indies to those whose budgets were spent everywhere other than marketing, as an opening shocker, there's now something on PS VR that justifies the hardware. I know.
