7. Gears of War 3 - Dom's Death
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR_Ze5v9jUs Just like with MW3, you don't expect to see many sad moments in a shooter game, yet Gears of War 3 has one moment that tops even Soap's death. As soon as the bridge was destroyed I knew something was going to happen to Dom. He'd already lost Maria and his entire family and apart from Marcus, he had nothing left to live for. As he's driving down the tunnel and talking to Maria, you can tell that it's finally over for him. There won't be any miraculous escapes or any diving out of the truck. What makes it worse though isn't just the fact that Dom is dead, but that Marcus is alone now. Sure he's still got his team, but he and Dom grew up together and were always there for each other.
