Booker Dewitt is a fascinating character within the BioShock franchise, though not the most. That honour will forever go to Andrew Ryan who, if his game was released this side of the 2010s, would easily be on this list. However we'll have to ask you kindly to consider DeWitt and his tragic death at the end of Infinite instead.

His final memories are that of Elizabeth, his daughter, revealing his role as the nexus for all of the suffering caused by Columbia multiple timelines over.

In life, DeWitt was a psychologically damaged man who traded a life out of pure selfishness. As his alternate, he was a power hungry zealot with an unstoppable drive to perpetuate hatred.

As he is drowned by different versions of Elizabeth, he accepts his fate that in order to destroy Comstock, DeWitt must die; it's a powerful, saddening and quite frankly impossible end for the man.
