3. Murdered: Soul Suspect

LA Noire
Square Enix

Another story about a ghost solving his own murder, the theme of Murdered: Soul Suspect isn't so much about the murder itself, but the idea of moving on after settling your worldly accounts.

Set in one of the most unheard of locations in gaming, Airtight Games' Murdered: Soul Suspect has you investigating the circumstances surrounding the demise of Ronan O'Connor - a Salem, Massachusetts police officer. You'll uncover dark secrets about the history of the town and Ronan's own emotional story in this short, but very well done title.

A classic detective story with a supernatural twist, the game's atmosphere is perfect for those who enjoy Halloween and learning of the harrowing events of The Salem Witch Trials. You'll meet other ghosts in the game and even engage in some otherworldly combat while trying to figure out how Ronan was killed. Although brief and not incredibly challenging, Murdered: Soul Suspect is a tiny gem of a title that's worth the eight or so hours of play time.

Ronan is undeniably likable, and you'll feel the New England charm of Salem as you play. Become immersed in the short mystery and you'll find yourself having an enjoyable weekend.
