10 Movie Video Games That Were EPIC Fails

What is it about science-fiction movies that don't translate well into video games?

Aliens Colonial Marines looked like a good shout: a modern FPS offering an action-combat experience in the style of the second movie. Featuring the voice talents of Michael Biehn (who'd done a great turn in Far Cry Blood Dragon the same year) and Lance Henriksen to return as "is he friendly or is he deadly?" Bishop, early previews were promising.

The game apes the movie in the intro: pulling marines out of cryostasis, briefing them then throwing them into a hostile environment: this time the U.S.S. Sulaco to retrieve marines gone missing.

Problems surface all over the place. First is the graphics looking nowhere near as good as competing games out at the time. Second was the fact the xenomorph AI was so wonky it became more famous for memes than it did scares.

Then suddenly you're fighting other human forces. Sorry - have we just stepped back into 1998 to remake Half-Life?! The game misses the point in so many ways: probably a symptom of the four development studios cobbling the game together.

Love it or hate it, this was soon surpassed by the superior survival horror experience Alien Isolation released just a year later.
