10 New Improvements The Bioshock Sequel Needs To Have

10. Give Us New Protagonists

Let's start with an obvious one shall we? Everyone loved the adventures of Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth, with the latter being one of the stand out characters of the franchise. We cared about their adventure, we were intrigued by Elizabeth's time-hopping abilities. It was great getting to know Booker DeWitt, his previous battles and his mysterious past. Whoever takes over from Irrational needs to give us more characters to care about. They need to make sure they don't make the mistake of the first game which was to give us a rather undeveloped main character with which to inhabit. Controlling a character we actually care about helps us invest our emotions into a game, which in turn makes the stakes higher when things don't exactly go to plan. Improving on Elizabeth and Booker will be difficult, but if a new protagonist can be crafted with personality and charm then the world in which we will be inhabiting can spring to life that little bit more.
