10 Popular Video Games That Will Die In The Next 5 Years
3. Saint's Row

Current Status: From two fairly meh originals to a PHENOMENAL third instalment, Saints Row immediately found its niche as the stupid, overblown yin to GTA's increasingly serious yang. Where Rockstar made GTA IV a gritty crime drama awash in a sea of grey and brown, Saints Row let you parachute through a moving plane, batter pedestrians with an oversized dildo and play as female characters with boobs bigger than a small van.
Because video games.
After Saints 4 though (a game that was already repeating much of the same appeal as The Third), Gat Out of Hell was an off-putting and unwanted reskin of past assets, releasing as a "spin-off" that nobody picked up.
Cut to 2017 and we got... Agents of Mayhem, a game set in the same "universe" as Saints Row, but with none of the charm, wit or playability.
The Future: Volition find themselves at a crossroads. Saints' core appeal has dwindled with GTA restoring its own insanity, and that's without recognising just how godawful Agents of Mayhem was. Trying to "do more Saints Row" when the bar has been raised so much is damn near impossible, and going the other way - back to the mundane, grounded likes of the originals - would be even more of a back step.
There's nowhere to go but down.
