10 Promising First & Third-Person Shooters Coming In 2022

Core Decay is an indie first person shooter inspired by the 1990's classic titles Deus Ex and System Shock. This retro inspired fps will see players exploring it's varied dystopian levels, engaging with NPC's, hunting down collectibles and navigating combat situations.

The game presents a mysterious world and story in which enormous corporations have risen to power following the ecological collapse of the planet. Players will take part in a group of conspirators tasked with ensuring the survival of humanity in conflict with these seemingly evil corporations.

Exploring a defunct facility, the character will be faced with robotic security units as well as the horrific results of biological experiments gone wrong.

While first person shooting mechanics are part of the core experience, it is said that much of the game can be tackled without the need for direct combat engagements, allowing gamers to play their way and use stealth and decision-making over brute force in some instances.

Core Decay also features cybernetic upgrades, allowing players to augment their stats and abilities throughout the game. Developer Ivar Hill originally started work on the game as a one-man team but has since employed other personnel to accelerate development for a 2022 release.
