First announced back at E3 2016, Rare's Sea Of Thieves was set to be a game where players could fulfil all of their pirate fantasies within a vibrant, shared open world embedded with the veteran development team's signature tongue-in-cheek humour.

Launching in March 2018, Rare's pirating adventure earned plenty of praise for its visually impressive open world and co-operative ship combat. However, the game nevertheless received just as much criticism for its relentless grind and a disappointing lack of content.
