10 Scummiest Moves Made By Video Game Publishers
5. Konami Removing PT From The PSN Store
Konami
couldn’t stay out of controversy for long. As the next project everyone was
waiting for them to mess up was Silent Hills. A return to form for the classic
horror series that had been going downhill for years after Konami dispended and
fired the team that made the original four. They have a habit of that.
To get us excited something called P.T was released to the PlayStation store to get people talking about the game. P.T stood for 'playable teaser' and was one of the best horror experiences people had seen in years that still leaves almost anyone in tears. The teaser was completely free yet had plenty of content that kept people talking and trying to solve the game's secrets.
However, after Konami fired Kojima, they also canceled Silent Hills shocking the video game industry. Adding insult to injury removed the free teaser from the store and stopped people who already had it from redownloading it. Another act of Pettiness that we now just expect from this once great company.
People have tried to make fan mods and recreate the game but Konami has removed most of them.
Already adding to one of the scummiest moves ever made by a publisher.
