Baldur’s Gate 3’s quest “Steal a Githyanki Egg” is pretty self-explanatory. As you venture into the githyanki creche, you meet an agent of the Society of Brilliance who asks you to steal one of the green warriors' unhatched babies so that the society can raise it to be non-violent.
Those who have finished the quest know it doesn't really have a satisfying conclusion. If you steal the egg as requested and give it to the agent, the hatchling will end up killing all of the Society for being children-stealing hypocrites. If you don’t give them the egg, the unhatched baby either stays inside the creche, where it’s likely to die due to being weaker than its kin, or it litters your inventory space forever.
There seems to be no incentive to steal the egg. However, it actually can be made into a secret reward with a simple trick.
If you put the egg inside Lae’zel’s inventory and keep it until the rest of the game, in the epilogue, the child will hatch, and Lae’zel will end up raising it!
