10 Secret Ways Video Games PUNISH You For Acting Stupid

4. Charge Card - Fallout 4

Fallout 4 has significantly dumbed down the series dialogue options. However, this doesn't mean it still doesn't punish players for making stupid choices.

One of the most interesting and strangely elaborate examples of that is what happens when you buy a charge card.

On the western edge of the map, the Sole Survivor can come across Quinn, a con artist who tries to sell you a used charge card from a bygone era.

Quinn will claim that this defunct card will allow you to pay at any Commonwealth store without having to haul all your caps around, but considering his obviously patronizing attitude (and the fact that caps don't weigh anything), the deal feels like an obvious scam.

Still, you can buy Quinn's card, and this will lead you to discover a whole universe of ways in which the game will make fun of you for it.

If you bring the card to the Commonwealth's traders to test Quinn's promise, most of them will actually have unique dialogue options reacting to your scam charge card.

Some will think it's a joke, and some will shame you for getting scammed.

However, each of their dozens of unique lines is a reminder that you've wasted a hundred caps on a useless piece of plastic.
