10 SEGA Games That Need A Remake

Remakes are absolutely everywhere; an inescapable part of the gaming market that is worth millions. Many would have thought that tapping into 90s nostalgia would be a logical move for developers but unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case.

While everyone is grateful for Sonic Mania there are still many cartridges gathering dust. Some of these titles would be amazing if they were revitalised with a team of dedicated developers. Shadow of the Beast was an acceptable attempt at remaking a SEGA franchise, but there are games with better potential and bigger fanbases.

With that in mind, players are keen to see games that bring back familiar characters but with better visuals, more abilities, and hopefully a longer playtime. A lot of the ideas behind these games were well executed, even if they have aged poorly, and for that reason they deserve another shot.

This list showcases games that were not only lovable but set out solid premises for franchises. Hopefully, the decision-makers at every major studio see this and take immediate action to remedy the situation and the best SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive games will return.

A challenging side-scrolling game, Revenge of Shinobi had a lot going for it. The game is a classic revenge tale that allows players to embody a ninja, take down enemies and perform some impressive acrobatics. The end result was a really solid game that had some very interesting characters.

Godzilla, Batman and Sylvester Stallone all appear in this game. Unfortunately, this meant that different iterations of the game had to be released in order to avoid legal action.

However, it does leave the question of how good a licensed pop culture mash-up with ninja gameplay would be. It could be a disaster, but it could also be an unconventional triumph.

This game would be the hardest to get developed on this list but that does not mean it's not worth the effort. It would be intriguing to see how a modern take on the fun gameplay would pan out.
