Despite lightsabers being perhaps the single most recognisable aspect of the Star Wars movies, the actual creation of one is barely touched on at all throughout the film franchise.

Though the wider novels have certainly gone into greater depth about the practical and ritualistic aspects of building a lightsaber, Jedi Fallen Order provides fans with a more up-close and personal glimpse than ever at how a lightsaber is constructed and modified.

The game's various workbenches allow players to savour, in slavish visual detail, the modular elements of a lightsaber: the emitter (where the laser comes from), the sleeve (for grip), and the switch (to turn it on and off).

It admittedly doesn't go into masses of detail about kyber crystals, which give lightsabers their power, but it's nevertheless a far more in-depth look at the weapons than the movies have ever given fans.
