10 Steam Machine Games That'll Make PS4 & Xbox One Owners Jealous

4. Garry's Mod

The veritable free-for-all that is Garry's Mod is essentially a giant sandbox based on Valve's Source engine, allowing players to get creative and make their own levels and game modes using an insane number of crazy props. The limits of what you can do are confined only by the versatile Source physics. You can create strange playable vignettes involving iconic and invented characters from just about any TV show, game or movie you can think of then essentially just piss around with your friends using the endless amount of user-created gravity guns, catapults, Portal guns, cars, weapons and levels. Giving specific examples of what you can do in Garry's Mod is always going to be futile, because the joy of it comes from the sheer variety on offer. You can be messing around with your friends in a Toy Story-inspired room filled with dangers like toy rockets and drawing pins one minute, race around in GTA cars the next, then play a street gang simulator after that. Garry's Mod is a gloriously chaotic smorgasbord of wacky user-created fun that continues to be updated and packed with new content to this day, and there is absolutely no game equal to it on the PS4 or Xbox One. With millions of sales to its name and a planned sequel in the works, this is a great reason in itself to get your hands on a Steam Machine.
