10 Terrifying Video Game Monsters You Were Completely Unprepared For

7. Outlast: Whistleblower - The Groom

Is mankind truly a monster, or just a creation borne by circumstance...?

Whatever the reason that led Eddie Gluskin to becoming fixated on finding "the perfect bride", I don't want to know.

I also didn't want to experience firsthand (and first-person), "The Groom's" attempt at making me his perfect bride. Bearing in mind this isn't some minor cosmetic alteration, oh no.

This is an all-male prison, let's remember. What is that one physical characteristic that defines men from women? That's right, the outy bit that we use to procreate with.

And how does Mr. Gluskin want to make us his bride? By turning it into an innie, which is all should need to know (and I'm not going to spell it out).

Outlast, and other horror games that mostly render you defenseless, already freak me out. Being chased with no means of fighting back is bad enough.

But to be strapped to a table with the imminent threat of castration put the willies in me (ironically). Whilst, thankfully, it doesn't happen, it was still a prolonged enough sequence to have me clenching every available muscle.
