10 Things We Want To See From Skate 4
9. An Epic Opening Sequence
Though EA has been accused of being out of touch with its audience in recent years, it's hard to argue that the Skate series was guilty of the same crime. After all, rarely had a game so perfectly encapsulated skateboarding culture, with the various brands involved feeling like they were naturally part of the game rather than being awkwardly shoehorned in like in other titles.
EA Black Box also managed to assemble a great cast of professional skaters to be involved in the game, making it that little bit more rewarding when you finally got to rub shoulders with some of the world's best, or, more truthfully, invariably losing game after game of S.K.A.T.E against the likes of Eric Koston and Mike Carroll.
Not content with just immortalising some of the world's best skaters in pixilated form, the Skate series also featured hilarious opening sequences starring the cast of skateboarders in the game, while offering some backstory of where the player character has been since the previous title.
