10 Things You Didn't Know About Fallout 4

3. Dogmeat May Be A Synth

One of the most compelling characters in the entire franchise, Fallout 4's Dogmeat, can be recruited as a canine companion to the Sole Survivor in the early portion of the game, and will loyally accompany the player throughout their travels in the wastes.

However, in the years since the game's release, a rather compelling fan theory has gained traction stating that man's best friend may actually be a synth created by the nefarious Institute with the intention of leading the player towards Father.

Put down your pitchforks and put on your tinfoil hats as we analyse the evidence...

Firstly, unlike practically all of the other mutts found scattered across the Commonwealth, Dogmeat is not only friendly but is also one of the few dogs in the game that isn't at least partially mutated by radiation.

Also, it is revealed that much of the player's journey through the main quest has been facilitated by the Institute so it's logical to assume that Father could have used the pooch to lead the player to him.

Ultimately there is no conclusive proof one way or the other, but it is definately a compelling theory.
