10 Things You Didn't Know About Sly Cooper

2. Monaco Heist

Sly Cooper movie
Sucker Punch

This is yet another instance of Sly and Carmelita’s relationship blossoming between installments in the franchise, despite their large differences.

Receiving an invitation to a wedding between Dimitri Lousteau and Madame D’Oinkeau, Sly and the gang decide to steal the Venus de Whalo that is being gifted to Dimitri during the wedding. While entering the building through a skylight, he finds that Dimitri is actually an art forger, something neither Carmelita nor D’Oinkeau know about.

Carmelita is on security detail at this event, and after hearing of Sly being apprehended upstairs, she also discovers the forged paintings that Dimitri had been hiding. She arrests Dimitri, and then goes to capture the gang, who has already departed with the statue.

Despite getting the statue in the van, Bentley informs them that they are overschedule, and will have to wait for the next ferry. Sly decides to distract Carmelita, and the two of them have a stand off where they speak about their history together.

They talk in detail about the first time that they met, and how their views are so similar and yet so different. Both parties believe that the other is completely obsessed with them, and they would both be correct.

This heist in Monaco is a great piece of history between the two of them, as well as adding more history with Dimitri, which impacts future games greatly.
