10 Things You Somehow Missed In The Last Of Us
2. Hidden Cameo Appearances
By now, the secret is out on The Last of Us' voice-over cast. Ashley Johnson, Troy Baker and Jeffrey Pierce are unrecognizable in their live-action cameo roles on the show, but their participation in HBO's version of events was somewhat of an open secret.
News of the trio's involvement in production broke long before the show aired, meaning that it was a question of "when", as opposed to "whether" they would make an appearance. However, considering just how hard it is to spot the original cast in their new roles, it does not seem like a stretch to suggest that fans may have missed two of the show's more intricately hidden cameo appearances.
In a gleeful wink at the camera, one of the Clickers who emerges from beneath the ground in Episode 5 is none other than Jason Ritter - husband of Melanie Lynskey, who plays revolutionary Kathleen on the show. Given the industrial amount of fungal makeup the Joan of Arcadia star is covered in, it's hardly surprising that one might have missed him.
It's not all fun and games though. The climactic sequence of the show's final episode also sees Laura Bailey subtly appear as one of the masked nurses in the Firefly operating theatre. Bailey provides the voice for Abbey - Ellie's eventual nemesis, and one of the playable characters from The Last of Us: Part II.
