10 Time Murphy's Law Invaded Your Video Game

4. Your Lucky Streak Will Desert You When You Most Need It

Resident evil
Nintendo

We’ve all had the experience: every shot is a head-shot, every lap is perfect, and your tactics are Alexander the Great levels of genius. You’re in the Zone and it’s absolutely glorious.

Until, that is, you really need to be.

Because now, faced with a boss festooned in tiny critical-hit zones, your very last lap with the second place car steaming up your tale pipe, or the nail-biting climax of a two-hour campaign, you find that Murphy has stolen your mojo.

All of a sudden you cannot hit the broad side of a bus, are spending more time off-road than on, and are wondering why your troops are waving white flags rather than the enemy’s.

Inevitably, the harder you try the worse your performance. Worse, this marks the beginning of loosing streak lasting twice as long as the winning. Even worse this Rofl-stomp will coincide with a live-stream or Let’s Play series or, at the absolute worst, when you’ve got some of your friends over and they’re the ones who are stomping you.

Fortune may favour the brave but Murphy doth make fools of us all.
