10 Times You Secretly Made The Game Harder (And Didn't Even Realize)

1. Charismatic Autobiogrpahy - Yakuza 0

Yakuza 0 Combat

The Yakuza series is chock-full of random fights with thugs and other shady characters, but in Yakuza 0 you can secretly extend the range of potential combatants to civilians as well.

In fact, you can make them infinitely harder than any criminal you typically go up against.

The Charismatic Autobiography is one of the rewards you get for completing the Q&A section in the "Damned Yanki" substory.

The book requires you to get at least two out of the three questions correctly, so you think it might do something amazing.

However, when you equip it, nothing happens. Until you walk out into the streets, and suddenly everyone is out to get you, that is...

The autobiography's secret ability is that it makes every NPC a lot more aggressive while also giving them a boost to their strength.

As long as you have it equipped, you can't walk down a street without someone picking a fight with you and nearly curb-stomping you to death.

Since the autobiography doesn't let you know it's equipped and working, it's easy to unknowingly put it on and then wonder why all of a sudden every stage and location feels like a ruthless gauntlet of random street fights.
