10 Underrated Video Games Nobody Appreciated In Their Time

1. Everything About L.A. Noire

Rockstar

Picked up by Rockstar after the game was languishing in development hell, the developers reworked the period-piece detective title into something more closely resembling their other popular franchises.

Consequently, the game made a splash when it released back in 2011, but a lot of players were put off by the lack of action and unique focus on classic adventure mechanics.

Instead of centring the game around shootouts and car chases, the bulk of the title was spent looking around crime scenes for clues, interrogating suspects and piecing together a criminal conspiracy that had infiltrated every level of 1940's Los Angeles.

While some loved L.A. Noire's brand of adventure gameplay, others weren't ready for a big blockbuster release that asked them to do more walking than shooting, and as a result the franchise has been dormant ever since.

Thankfully we've got a full remaster including all DLC coming in November, so perhaps if that makes anything of a splash, Rockstar might finally revisit such a promising IP.
