10 Unexpected Times You Found Something Awesome In Video Games

5. The Suicidal Troll - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

If you're come across this bridge southeast of Bravil in Bethesda's classic RPG, prepare yourself for one hell of an emotional rollercoaster.

At first glance, the sight of a dead troll floating in the water underneath the bridge is hilariously ironic...until you examine the corpse and find a bottle of wine and a "poorly scrawled note" among its possessions.

The note reads, "Mee wurst troll evurr nobuddy pay brijj tole me nott sceary enuf mee gett drunc an kil sellf troll droun."

To clarify, the troll was depressed that nobody would pay his toll because he wasn't scary enough, so he decided to get drunk and kill himself, presumably by jumping off the bridge.

Do you feel like garbage for laughing yet?

The gag is repeated in less depressing terms in Skyrim, where players can once again find a dead troll underneath a bridge, while atop the bridge, a trio of goats will flee from the player, in reference to the classic Norwegian fairy tale Three Billy Goats Gruff.
