10 Upcoming 2018 Video Games That Will Struggle To Live Up To The Hype

8. Anthem

Anthem Squad
Bioware

Coming in at eight is Anthem, a game that by all rights has the capacity to be a huge hit if it does what it says on the tin.

Developed by Bioware with a story penned by Drew Karpyshyn, lead writer on the first two Mass Effect games, and published by a well-funded juggernaut in EA, it seems there’s little that could go wrong.

It’s both good and bad to hear Anthem touted as EA’s answer to Destiny. Good because for all its faults, Destiny was an attractive and at-first intriguing game. Bad because, well, comparing anything with Destiny these days seems like a bit of a slap in the digital face.

The team aspect of Anthem could set it apart, however, and the fact EA owns Bioware outright means more flexibility in production and, fingers crossed, a much better end product.

Tom Sunderland hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
