10 Video Game Bosses So Strong Your Only Option Is To Run

Alien: Isolation is a brilliant adaptation of the classic sci-fi movie. A big part of why it captures the essence of its source material so well can be attributed to the titular alien, which, just like the original xenomorph, is a deadly force of nature that stalks you around the spaceship and strikes with an uncanny kind of intelligence.

Indeed, the xenomorph appears to be smarter than your average video game boss, and that's because it is equipped with sophisticated AI that allows it to replicate a cunning predator chasing its prey to a tee.

As if that wasn't enough to make the alien dangerous, its claws and other pointy things are capable of killing you instantly, and any attempts to retaliate won't do the same, because the creature is impossible to damage. Even flamethrowers will only cause it to temporarily retreat to the ship's ventilation system to lick its wounds and wait for the next chance to strike.

This is why Isolation isn't really a horror game. It's just one big, giant boss fight, where you have to survive an encounter with a stronger, tougher, and smarter opponent until you find a way out of your miserable situation.
