The game's atmosphere is eerie and disturbing at every single stage, but the most intense part, that those who played probably remember the best, has to be the many encounters with the very first boss.

The starting level of Limbo features several boss fights with a giant spider. Now, given that you play as a small child and you don't really have any weapons at hand, an enemy like this isn't something you can defend yourself against.

The spider is unkillable and can impale you with one of its huge legs in one swift strike, so naturally you have no other option but to avoid it and flee the scene whenever you can.

The speed and strength of the monstrous arachnid make each encounter with it a truly nerve-racking experience since one wrong move can be your last before you even realize what's happened.

It really makes you feel like a helpless little child, but thankfully you do eventually get to kill it by tricking it to get flattened by a boulder.
