1. Bowser (Super Mario Bros. Series)
The plot of close to every Mario game is rather simple: Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach and attempts to take over the Mushroom Kingdom. Thus Mario travels through many different levels to thwart Bowser. When you stop eating mushrooms and jumping on tiny turtles and take a minute to think, it appears that Bowser isn't actually that bad. Look at his domain: it's a horrible dark castle full of volcanoes and lava and not exactly the best place to raise a bunch of Koopas. Can you really fault the guy for wanting to invade the Mushroom Kingdom? He never said he'd throw everyone out, he merely wants to be in charge and give his Koopas somewhere nice to live. Even when the Koopas and the Goombas get into the MK, do they start any fights or burn the place down? Of course not, they walk back and forth between two objects or just waddle around happily. It's not until Mario turns up and starts jumping on them do the problems start... in fact, who are we even to say that Mario is better for Princess Peach? Actually, let's look at that more closely, because I don't understand why Princess Peach is even in charge of the Mushroom Kingdom. Her father is depicted as a scatter-brain who's given up on ruling and let his daughter take over. As for Peach, would you rely on someone ruling a kingdom when they can't even look after themselves? How many times has she been kidnapped by Bowser and how many times has she just twiddled her thumbs waiting for Mario to turn up? Bowser should be in charge of the Mushroom Kingdom - look at all the projects he starts up every time he invades. A working sewer system, roads, highways and defence turrets to stop invasions. Sure, he kidnaps Peace a fair amount of times, but evidently he really likes her and is too shy to ask her to marry him. I honestly think Bowser should be in charge of the MK and Peach will hopefully get used to the idea of marrying him. Mario, on the other hand, needs to be put away... he's killed millions of creatures, is an obvious drug user and doesn't seem to pop into work at all. Lock him up with Wario for all I care. Bowser for King!
