10 Video Game Bosses Who Can Secretly Join Your Team
5. Lord Scourge - Star Wars: The Old Republic
Despite being an MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic follows the tradition of other BioWare games by providing the player with recruitable companions. Each class has its own roster of unlockable tag-alongs that join you at certain points in the story and then hang around on your ship.
For the Jedi Knight class, the available companions are your Padawan, a support droid, a number of other Republic misfits and... The immortal guard of the Sith Emperor.
For some unknown reason, the last companion you unlock as the loyal protector of the Republic is the right-hand man of the evil villain you've sworn to destroy. Also known by his charming name Lord Scourge.
Now, you might think the reason Scourge joins his master's enemy is a change of heart, but in reality Scourge remains fully committed to the Sith Code, even when playing as a total goody two-shoes Jedi. His true motivation is simply to prevent the Emperor from performing a ritual that would destroy the entire galaxy.
The Sith Lord sticks out like a sore thumb among your allies, but that's honestly what makes him such an entertaining companion!
