10 Video Game Bosses Who Cheated To Win (And Still Lost)
5. Ronvid Of The Small Marsh - The Witcher 3
If there's one thing anyone can learn from playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it's that going up against Geralt of Rivia is a death sentence. And yet, somehow, a lot of NPCs in the game refuse to learn this lesson, the most tragically stubborn of whom is the self-proclaimed knight of Maid Bilberry, Ronvid of the Small Marsh.
Ronvid is first encountered in the White Orchard. He presents himself as the knight who has sworn to defeat one hundred men to prove his devotion to his beloved, Maid Bilberry. For this reason, he basically forces Geralt into a duel with him, and when he loses, he decides to go on a petty revenge trip.
If you spare Ronvid after your first encounter, the man will keep coming back to challenge Geralt, each time finding new tricks to give himself leverage in the fight. This includes buying a huge shield and even hiring a group of thugs to beat up Geralt for him.
However, no matter how many dirty tricks Ronvid uses, he's still a huge pushover. He's really easy to take down, even when he sacrifices all of his honor to prove he's the bigger man.
Maybe Maid Bilberry should reconsider her choice of knight.
