10 Video Game Characters Who Got Undeservedly Brutal Deaths

The Soulsborne games have a unique way of creating monstrous boss enemies that players still somehow pity. Bloodborne’s Father Gascoigne is a fantastic example of this, but the iconic Great Grey Wolf Sif is on a similar plane of tragedy.

Sif is found in the Artorias of The Abyss DLC of Dark Souls, which can make the eventual fight against the animal even more heartbreaking in the main game. That's because the great beast, which was protected by Artorias from beyond the grave by his shield, does not want to fight the Chosen Undead. The protagonist, in turn, is surely unwilling to fight Sif, but it proves a formidable opponent once battle is joined.
