10 Video Game Deaths You Were POWERLESS To Stop (But Kept Trying Anyway)

Lenny Summer is one of the most likeable characters among Red Dead Redemption 2's epic ensemble cast - from the moment we got wasted with him in the saloon in Valentine, he was a ride-or-die amigo.

But this only makes Lenny's death that much more heartbreaking - during the robbery of the Lemoyne National Bank, as Lenny and protagonist Arthur attempt to flee across a rooftop, Lenny is met by two Pinkertons who immediately gun him down.

This being a game from Rockstar, who have offered alternate fates for supporting characters in several Grand Theft Auto games, players might assume that if they were a little quicker on the draw they could shoot the Pinkertons before they open fire on Lenny.

But no, there's nothing to be done here. Yet that hasn't stopped fans from modding the game so they can teleport to Lenny, pick him up, and fly away before the Pinkertons riddle him with lead. 

Sadly there's no mod that keeps Lenny alive in the story, though.
