10 Video Game Franchises Making Huge Comebacks In 2023

9. Cities: Skylines 2

The recent trailer for the sequel to Cities: Skylines is a much-needed breath of fresh air for those who yearned to play a proper city builder but couldn’t be bothered to spend copious amounts of money on all the DLCs for the original game.

Cities: Skylines’ years' worth of DLCs have caused a lot of new players to not give the game a shot, especially since all of the mechanics introduced in each of them are quite intimidating to learn all at once. Furthermore, some of the game's systems feel quite outdated nowadays, and most people can't stand playing the game without downloading a long list of mods.

The sequel has the potential to address both of these issues by making the game more accessible to new players while simultaneously refurbishing the antiquated mechanics to appeal to old fans. Should this be the case, Cities: Skylines can become the definitive title within the city-builder genre yet again.
