It's worth saying that this is by no means suggesting that the final boss of Darkest Dungeon is in any way easy. It's the final boss equivalent of covering your entire body in shaving foam and then setting it alight.

However, you head to the Ancestor armed to the teeth for a tough fight. The dungeon he's in is literally called the Darkest Dungeon - and since that's the title of the already difficult game, you're fully aware of what you're in for.

The Unclean Giant offers no such warning. He just rocks up randomly while you're roaming Weald levels, sweaty and miserable, and then one-hit KOs your favourite party member.

Worse yet, they come equipped with abilities that both move your party's positions around, and infect you with blight. This means you have to worry about moving your sturdiest member to the front to avoid anyone definitely dying, curing your party before the blight messes them up, and also trying to punch the Big Unfriendly Giant responsible for all of this.

Oh, and he has a huge amount of health. Because of course he does.
