10 Video Game Plagues That Would Destroy The World

9. Cordyceps Brain Infection - The Last Of Us

The first time I entered an abandoned tower block in The Last of Us and was embraced by the brutal intensity of a ‘clicker’, I knew this was a infection I never want to be a part of.

This parasitic fungal infection is a grotesque, body-altering bastard of a disease that puts its host through varying forms of horror and completely controlling their body.

By the end of the process, it’s hard to mistake the human from a creature most likely found in a David Cronenberg horror flick.

What adds to the scare levels for this pandemic is the rate of infection and how easy it is to past from host to victim. Through bites and deadly spores, there’s a multitude of ways this hideous mutation can enter your system and alter your body.
