10 Video Game Pranks You Wish Were True

1. Deliverune

In 2019, Jagex - the developer behind the incredibly popular MMORPG RuneScape - provided a topical April Fool's day joke.

In an era where ordering food for delivery couldn't be simpler, it decided to run a gag centred on Deliveroo for its game. The service was called DeliveRune through which the player's character would prepare themselves to cook a meal before actually placing an order.

They could then snack on the various feasts of Gielinor, such as a pizza, after a delivery driver had dropped the food at the player's real life house. Similarly to how you can track a Domino's order, the character is able to keep an eye on the progress of their order while slaying the many of monsters that inhabit the game's world.

While it is an over-played joke that gamers are lazy and love to eat pizza, it certainly wouldn't hurt if video game developers started their own delivery service for those who can't be bothered to open an app while playing their favourite titles. It's anybody's guess for how a service such as this would be rolled out worldwide, though.
