10 Video Game Side Characters That Got Their Own (Better) Spin-Off

4. Miles Edgeworth - Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth 2

final fantasy crisis core
Capcom

Anyone who's played Ace Attorney can testify to the greatness of Miles Edgeworth. The name alone is already a stroke of genius, but combine it with Miles' uncompromised set of morals and his cartoonishly villanous retorts in court, and you end up with the greatest archnemesis or foe a main character could ask for.

For the longest time, Miles Edgeworth played second fiddle to Pheonix Wright, but in 2009, Capcom decided to finally give him his own game. And although the first iteration of this spinoff wasn't anything to write home about, the sequel is definitely one of the best games in the entire Ace Attorney franchise.

The game's writing, in particular its ability to convey a genuine sense of urgency during intense moments, is like nothing else in the series. It's full of exciting and unexpected plot twists that befit Edgeworth's persecutor role nicely.

Unfortunately, the game was never released outside of Japan, so unless you know how to speak Japanese, you'll have to learn how to apply a fan translation to your copy.

The extra work is well worth it, however, as it's the best fun a person can have in a digital courtroom setting.
