10 Video Game TV Shows HBO Should Make After The Last Of Us
1. Mass Effect
Lastly, Mass Effect is this writer's most-desired HBO adaptation because as long as it's given the proper budget and a necessary allotment of runtime to tell a full story, the storied network will have a surefire hit on their hands. Mass Effect is the Star Trek and Firefly hybrid you've never had before but always wanted, and it'd be an incredible show for HBO.
Mass Effect has players take control of Commander Shepard, a customizable soldier with superpowers (if you choose to have them) who commands his own ship and crew as they travel across the Milky Way Galaxy. You embark on adventures, fight against gangs and hostile enemy forces, all while galavanting across many striking vistas and locations. There are so many ways you could go about an adaptation, and as long as it maintains the spirit of the series, you can't really go wrong.
So many memorable characters, so many polarizing decisions to be made, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Mass Effect is filled to the brim with content, lore, and potential storylines. Like Game of Thrones did with the fantasy genre, Mass Effect could become a pop-culture staple within the sci-fi genre, easily earning a place on the TVs of millions of fans across the world every week.
It won't be cheap, but if HBO invests in it, they'll be the host of another pop culture event every week, ten+ times a year.
