4. N - Pokemon Black And White
It’s rare for Pokémon villains to show some depth beyond "we're here to destroy the world, because why not?".
One of the most interesting villains in the entire series is N, the enigmatic leader of Team Plasma from Pokémon Black and White.
N founded Team Plasma in order to free Pokémon from their human owners, as he believed their masters didn’t really treat them equally and respectfully.
Throughout the course of Black and White’s story, Team Plasma grows to adopt more radical views, seeing humans as a full-on plague that needs to be eradicated. After their intention of using a legendary Pokémon to wipe out humanity is revealed, N decides to stop his former allies.
Every time N appears in the game, his intentions are unclear. He’s an enigmatic figure that keeps judging the player with questions about the nature of their relationship with their Pokémon.
However, this is all just a way for N to size you up so that when the two of you finally go up against the new leaders of Team Plasma, he can trust you enough to join forces with you.
