10 Video Games So Disappointing You Rage Quit

2. Metroid: Other M

An underwhelming game can leave you cold in any area but sometimes make up for it elsewhere. Titles can have a bad story but you might not care because the gameplay is so addictive. On the flipside, a game might play in a way that feels disappointing but could have a great narrative and enrapturing characters so you push through it to see the story to the end.

Metroid Other M turned players off from both of these angles, leading to it being certainly the most abandoned adventure in Samus Aran's history. More than this, it doesn't really add much worthwhile to the overall plot that you can't just read about on a Wiki.

The character assassination of Samus Aran, who at this point has saved the world multiple times, listening to the orders of a bunch of soldier-bros was insulting to long-time fans. But in general, the gameplay is just completely unengaging. Trying to combine both 2D and 3D styles, and doing so on a solitary Wii Remote (with no Nunchuck) makes for an uncomfortable experience, as players have to continuously swap from one to the other by repositioning the controller in their hand any time they want to aim their weapon.

Not only did Other M make players rage quit, it also caused Nintendo to abandon Samus Aran's adventures for a full seven years until 2017's Metroid II remake.
