10 Video Games That Had No Right Being THIS Good
3. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Crossover games are not an uncommon phenomenon, especially for Nintendo. Super Smash Bros. is a franchise based solely around this premise, taking game characters from their own games and mashing them together in this fighting experience of epic proportions that extends even beyond Nintendo owned properties.
When Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was revealed, many were quite sceptical since Ubisoft's goofy Rayman spin-off series featuring the chaotic rabbits has been extremely hit and miss. What gamers were greeted with however was a surprisingly deep, varied and fun turn based strategy game that you'd have been wrong to have ever doubted.
With a cast of familiar Super Mario characters and their rabbid counterparts you take on a variety of rabbid enemies across distinct, colourful levels. Each character has unique weaponry and abilities which can be upgraded to pack more of punch to help overcome the often extremely challenging fights.
These two universes are smashed together through a device called the SupaMerge and the course of the story sees you trying to navigate the chaos that ensues in solo or co-op play.
With a great critical reception, strong sales and sequel in the works, this game proves that unlikely video game crossovers can indeed work well.
