10 Video Games That Hold Your Hand WAY Too Much

7. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword seems positively chilled out when compared to 2013's Nintendo DS RPG Mario & Luigi: Dream Team.

At the start of the game, even the most basic of actions are met with a pop-up box telling you precisely what to do - even how to jump and what HP is.

And while you can argue that it's important for the youngest of players to know what they're doing, there's certainly something to be said for the joy of figuring things out for yourself, especially where simple mechanics such as these are concerned.

Even later in the game, it's not uncommon to be harangued with a text box telling you exactly where you need to go in a dungeon, which rather strips a lot of the fun away, no?

It's honestly almost impressive how jam-packed with tutorials this thing is throughout its 30-or-so-hour playtime.

Thankfully Nintendo again heard the feedback loud and clear, as follow-up Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam allowed players to skip through all the gumpth they didn't need. Phew.
