10 Video Games That Rewarded You For Losing

4. Restart The Checkpoint Fully Healed By Dying Three Times - Brothers In Arms: Road To Hill 30

The Brothers in Arms games are no Call of Duty - that is to say, they will test both your skill and your patience, given that there's no regenerating health nor any way to heal in the middle of the action.

This can result in players getting to a mission checkpoint with their squad in incredibly rough shape, and though this suggests an old-school approach to difficulty where players may be too weak to reach the end and have to restart from the beginning, that's actually not the case.

If you die three times, the game will offer a helping hand, allowing you to heal your squad and replenish your resources while continuing from your most recent checkpoint.

In effect this basically negates the in-built anxiety of keeping a watchful eye on your resources, though reaching the end of the game is still no easy feat.
