I bet you were all waiting for this one. From ancient Greece to Victorian London, this series seems to leave its mark on many fascinating points in history. There may be some wild overarching stories and the odd mythical creature but the joy of the Assassin's Creed series is visiting and being immersed in these historical cultures.

In Assassin's Creed, you will be able to play an exciting action-adventure stealth game, while it winds its way through history. Whatever time the games are based in you will see giant historical events first hand. From the Peloponnesian War to the French revolution, you will see the world change in front of your eyes.

You will also meet and work for or against a number of historical figures. Cleopatra, Napoleon and Charles Darwin to name just a few. It is this immersion into history that really helps you to soak in the culture of the world around you.

While the Assassin's Creed series may have lost its way a few times, it seems to have come back stronger than ever. We must celebrate and continue series like these, because any game that manages to teach someone about a whole period of history without the person even realising it is an amazing thing.
