10 Video Games That Will Disappoint You In 2019
1. Anthem
The highly anticipated game from Bioware reeks of the same mystery that surrounded No Man's Sky. Mainly, "What is the game?!"
Given that it launches in February and we still don't fully "get" what's on offer, that's a terrible sign. And this games failure could spell disaster for Bioware, too.
Sadly, the team's last title was Mass Effect: Andromeda, the most disappointing game of the current generation. Since then, the studio has focused on jumping on the bandwagon and making a live services game that it can milk dry.
Anthem's reveal trailer showed-off Destiny-esque combat with Iron Man-eqsue mech suits. It looked fun for sure, but also quite mysterious. That was two years ago, the game is due out on February 22nd, and people still aren't sure what Anthem is.
Bioware promise there's a rich story here, but also say things like you will be "...putting together a story for yourself". That sounds an awful lot like Destiny, and the gameplay trailers show a world that looks devoid of things to do, except "interact with these machines and try to shut them down".
Sounds thrilling.
Anthem will be the disappointment of 2019.
