10 Video Games You Didn't Realise Were Secretly Sequels

If there's one thing Toby Fox tried to make as clear as daylight in the run-up to Deltarune's release, it's that it wasn't Undertale. This indie dev's explosive debut title took the industry by storm, and one thing that his next game couldn't do was live up to that hype. Yes, everyone knew the title was an anagram, but it was made very clear that this new game was not going to be the same. Note taken - don't expect Undertale. 

So, imagine everyone's shock when they ran into characters like Sans, Alphys, Toriel, Undyne, and more. Oh Toby, you devious little Fox. 

Like the anagrammed title suggested, Deltarune was connected to Undertale. Rather than being a direct sequel, it was revealed that this game was an alternate universe version of the original title, with many of the characters re-appearing in different roles. This took many by surprise, with YouTube compilations of people screaming when encountering Sans popping up everywhere. 

It might not have been a clear-cut continuation, but it was a lot more Undertale than people were expecting.
