10 Video Games You Regretted Playing

2. ReCore

Directed, written, and conceptualized by the guys behind Metroid Prime, Halo, and MegaMan, respectively - ReCore was set to be a giant among games. Playing as Joule, a woman who wakes from Cryo-Sleep to learn that the planet of Far Eden is not what she had hoped it would be.

But the game didn't live up to the sum of its creators. Plagued with long loading times that had a tendency to crash, especially on the Xbox One. It was barely playable at times and when you could play, it was largely just repetitive fetch quests and the same visuals on repeat.

While the story was praised, it was locked behind a level-requirement to proceed, forcing you to grind just to get ahead.

In the end the game was just a disappointment, because it did have quality ideas - and some of them were even instituted well. If you played the first release in 2016 and hadn't waited for the Definitive Edition that came out a year later, then you've probably got especially rough memories of the game.

While the DE fixed a lot of the issues it didn't save the poor souls who played it on release.
