Okay so this is pretty much expected from a next-generation games console, but it’s the specifics of what the Switch is packing under the hood that’s important.

The hybrid machine is powered by a Tegra processor, optimised for both the living room and portability, and this is backed up by an NVIDIA GPU, which is cut from the same cloth as some of the world’s best GeForce graphics chips.

So what does that mean exactly? According to NVIDIA, the Switch will boast a superior physics engine, new libraries, and advanced game tools and libraries.

In other words, games on the console will look and play better than anything on Wii U thanks to features like hardware-accelerated video and custom rendering software.
