Lacklustre third-party backing is a criticism that’s been aimed at Nintendo for generations, but the Switch trailer blew our minds the moment we glimpsed Skyrim.

While securing a blockbuster Bethesda RPG is a coup for Nintendo, the ability to play the best Elder Scrolls title on the move has us squealing like Ned Flanders in a room full of purple drapes.

And Skyrim won’t be the only third-party heavyweight to grace the Switch, as Nintendo has released an extensive list of the studios backing the console and it reads like a who’s who of triple A games development.

Activision, Square Enix, Sega, Konami, Capcom and Take-Two Interactive are among those invited to the Mario Party, which suggests the system will cater for a broader audience than the family-friendly Wii U.
