10 Ways Rocksteady Should Have Made Batman: Arkham Knight
8. Make The Arkham Knight Someone Other Than Jason Todd
Todd was always the immediate assumption, the one that gathered the most steam, made the most sense in terms of his backstory and had all of us going "Yup, it's him" from the very first thing he says on-screen. The sad thing is, figuring out - and guessing - the AK's identity in the run-up to release was some of the most fun comic fans have had since DC asked whether or not we wanted Robin to die in the first place.
Could the Knight be Azrael, Damien Wayne, a cyborg - perhaps some Court of Owls assassin? Nope, it was Jason Todd, because at the end of the day, Arkham Knight was being made for the widest audience possible, and no matter how tantalising the fan theories surrounding him (or her) were, Rocksteady had to go with the most easily digestible answer.
Obviously the amount of established characters they could've pulled from would have been solid alternatives (Prometheus, anyone?), but why not have the AK literally be an entirely new character, as was said from the get-go?
Some of the best Batman stories have come from newcomers - such as the aforementioned Court of Owls or Hush - so why not pick someone random who we perhaps failed to save in an older game, only to see that repercussion play out in full?
